4 Reasons Why You NEED Amazon Prime!

(This post may contain affiliate links, please click here to read our full disclosure!)

Today I want to talk to you about one of my most favorite things! AMAZON PRIME! For the last couple of years my husband and I have had an amazon prime account. I must say, it has been one of our best purchases. We are constantly making purchases on Amazon.

I must admit, before I became an Amazon Prime user, I thought it was only for shipping. When I visited amazon.com it would always suggest I become a member for free shipping. at $99 for the year, I wasn’t so interested. In my mind I didn’t shop too much on Amazon, so why would I need to spend my hard earned money for free shipping, no thanks!

It wasn’t until one year, Amazon ran a special. $49 for 12 months of Amazon Prime. My husband suggested we try it out! I was a little skeptical, but agreed to it since it was half the price.

My world changed FOREVER!!

My  husband told me that Amazon Prime was not only for free shipping to look more into it. And let me tell you, this is when the fun began!

Potty Training

Are you like me and absolutely LOVE children! I love my kids soooooooo much and would gladly have more if I could; however,  getting PUPPPS on my last pregnancy and potty training have made me say NO WAY to more children.

Lets face it, potty training is not for the weak. None of us have time to set aside and spend a week following your toddler around and taking them to the potty every 10-15 mins.  This is ESPECIALLY more difficult if you have more than 1 child!

This is where I fall into play. I have 3 children. 6, 4, and 2 years old. My 6 year old is in first grade and my 4 and 2 year old are home with me. I have been wanting to train since the summer, but was having a difficult time finding the time WHEN to do it.

My husband works full time and I am a full time mom driving back from school, grocery stores, and extra curricular activity. It seemed IMPOSSIBLE to get this 26 month old of mine trained until I saw the opportunity.  TRACK OUT!

You see, my oldest son goes to year round school. This means he goes to school for 9 weeks and then is off for 3 weeks. It’s an amazing schedule. His first track out of the year started in mid September. I had such big plans for the family for track out but then it hit me. I NEED TO POTTY TRAIN OUR YOUNGEST CHILD. I needed to put my big girl pants on and do it!

Now I have pottied trained 3 children and I have found some keys to help make your training go much smoother and quicker! I know there are many books and blogs out there that you can read and buy, but I’m going to lay it out for you.

I have trained both boys and girls so I know exactly what to expect for both type of children. It’s also important to note here that I’ve always started potty training between 22-24 months of age with 24 months being ideal. Any younger than this, you will be pottied trained and not your child. You want to have a level of communication with your child so that they can tell you when they need to go potty vs you running back and forth to the potty every few minutes.

So lets dive in and talk about the 5 simple steps you need to do in order to have your child potty trained.

What the PUPPP??? How to help get rid of PUPPPS

how to get rid of puppps

Something I wanted to talk about today is something that almost took me completely out. PUPPPS

When I found out I was pregnant with our third child, I was so excited!

I was already a mom of two, I already had a boy and a girl, so I felt extremely prepared.

I didn’t have to worry about buying clothes or baby accessories, I was ready.

However, with that said, I AM LITERALLY THE WORST PREGNANT PERSON IN THE WORLD. Ok, maybe not in the world, but I’m pretty close to it. (Just ask my husband) Little did I know PUPPPS was going to rock our world!

It’s like the moment I pee on a pregnancy test, the miserable nausea and fatigue kick in.

I was certain that with this third pregnancy, things would be different.

I would finally have my dream pregnancy, but that’s not exactly what happened!

The start of misery…moments before puppps

Now lets take a trip back to 2014, I found out I was pregnant right before the holidays started. And of course, that’s when the nausea started to take place, right around Thanksgiving and Christmas. I was so miserable. I could hardly eat, I could hardly drink , I was beyond miserable.

To make matters even worse, I came down with a terrible flu like cold. I was so sick. I couldn’t even enjoy Christmas dinner.

So once Christmas passed, I called my doctor and told my doctor that I couldn’t eat or drink and I had extreme nausea. I told my doctor that I had been sick previously.

Here I’m thinking I’m about to get some nausea medicine when he says, “ Oh well this nausea is coming from you being sick, just rest and try to eat and drink.” UGGGGGG, really???

Can we say disappointed? I went almost another week in this same condition when I woke up one morning after the new year throwing my guts up.

Drinking or brushing my teeth would result in me throwing up. ( I know some of you mama’s know exactly what I’m talking about!)  Of course, I was scheduled to be at work that day, so I called in sick and then I called my husband (who was already at work) He told me to call my doctor. I called my doctor and they had me come in.

Long story short, I was so dehydrated that I had to go to the hospital and get pumped full of fluids. I definitely DO NOT recommend dehydration, it’s terrible!

A simple baby proof tip….you have everything you need!

Today’s blog will be short and brief,  but I was thinking of something that’s so important; baby safety and baby proofing your home!

When you have a baby, one of the first things the pediatrician will ask you is if your house is baby proof!

(Duh my kid was just born… he can’t walk or crawl!!! We’ve all thought that!)

If you’re like me, you have all the outlet covers on, dangerous things out of reach,  but what about your doors?

Doors are something we rarely think about baby proofing but can cause some SERIOUS injury to a little ones fingers!

baby proof

One day our middle child was toddling around the bathroom door when my husband said, “we really need to get something to protect the kids from getting their fingers hurt in the door!”

Up until that point, I had never heard or thought of baby proofing doors. My husband then told me of his close friend whose child slammed their fingers in the door and seriously injured them.

It really freaked me out and set me on a mission to find a solution!
